To improve the unit cell performance and stability, molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) matrices were fabricated using synthetic α-LiAlO2 powder and they showed mechanical and microstructural stability under thermal cycle tests. The pure α-LiAlO2 matrix demonstrated stability with high open-circuit voltage (OCV) and maximum power density during many thermal cycle tests (more than 15 repetitions). Furthermore, to minimize the change in stack height during stack start-up and to improve mechanical and microstructural stabilities of the matrix, the electrolyte-combined α-LiAlO2 matrix was optimized by controlling the mixing ratio of synthetic α-LiAlO2 and Li/K carbonate powders. The suitable electrolyte content was fixed at approximately 50 vol.% for the homogeneously filled pores of the pure α-LiAlO2 matrix. These matrices showed good microstructural stability during five thermal cycle tests in an air atmosphere at 923 K and with improved unit cell performance (0.127 W cm−2) under MCFC operating conditions.In unit cell and thermal cycling tests, the optimized matrices were stable through more than 20 repetitions.  相似文献

The genetic variation found in small regions of the genomes of many species can be arranged into haplotype trees that reflect the evolutionary genealogy of the DNA lineages found in that region and the accumulation of mutations on those lineages. This review demonstrates some of the many ways in which clades (branches) of haplotype trees have been applied in recent years, including the study of genotype/phenotype associations at candidate loci and in genome-wide association studies, the phylogeographic history of species, human evolution, the conservation of endangered species, and the identification of species.  相似文献

This paper proposes a procedure for identifying the inertia matrix of a rotating body. The procedure based on Euler's equation governing rotational motion assumes errors‐in‐variables models in which all measurements, torque as well as angular velocities, are corrupted by noises. In order for consistent estimation, we introduce an extended linear regression model by augmenting the regressors with constants and the parameters with noise‐contributed terms. A transformation, based on low‐pass filtering, of the extended model cancels out angular acceleration terms in the regressors. Applying the method of least correlation to the model identifies the elements of the inertia matrix. Analysis shows that the estimates converge to the true parameters as the number of samples increases to infinity. Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate the performance of the algorithm and support the analytical consistency. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Epoxy resins are widely used as coatings, adhesives and primers and in semiconductor encapsulation. A requirement that has recently gained importance is that of flame resistance, and imparting flame retardancy to epoxy resins has attracted much attention. Expandable graphite (EG) can improve flame‐retardant properties of polymers. Due to poor compatibility between polymer matrix and EG, flame‐retardant performance will be impaired. EG can be functionalized using a coupling agent. This gives rise to covalent bonding between organic and inorganic phases. This will improve the compatibility between filler and polymer to enhance the thermal stability of composites. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy was used to characterize the functionalizing reaction between coupling agent and EG. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT) were used to calculate the thermal stability of composites. The results show that functionalized EG can improve the thermal stability of the composites. TGA/mass spectroscopy (MS) shows that the amount of toxic gases liberated from the composites is less than that from pure epoxy. Novel epoxy/EG composites were prepared successfully via the sol–gel method. The results of TGA, IPDT and TGA/MS showed that functionalized EG can enhance the thermal stability of composites and can suppress the production of toxic gases. Myostatin (MSTN) is a member of the transforming growth factor-β superfamily that negatively regulates skeletal muscle development and growth. In the present study, partial genomic fragments of MSTN were screened for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in selected common carp individuals from wild populations, and two SNPs in intron 2 (c.371 + 749A > G, c.371 + 781T > C) and two synonymous SNPs in exon 3 (c.42A > G, c.72C > T) were identified. Genotyping by direct sequencing of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products for these four SNPs were performed in 162 individuals from a commercial hatchery population. Association analysis showed that two SNPs in exon 3 were significantly associated with body weight (BW) and condition factor (K), and haplotype analyses revealed that haplotype H7H8 showed better growth performance. Our results demonstrated that some of the SNPs in MSTN may have positive effects on growth traits and suggested that MSTN could be a candidate gene for growth and marker-assisted selection in common carp.  相似文献

Robust artificial neural network (ANN) was developed to forecast sorption of gases in membranes comprised of porous nanoparticles dispersed homogenously within polymer matrix. The main purpose of this study was to predict sorption of light gases (H2, CH4, CO2) within mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) as function of critical temperature, nanoparticles loading and upstream pressure. Collected data were distributed into three portions of training (70%), validation (19%), and testing (11%). The optimum network structure was determined by trial-error method (4:6:2:1) and was applied for modeling the gas sorption. The prediction results were remarkably agreed with the experimental data with MSE of 0.00005 and correlation coefficient of 0.9994.  相似文献

A system identification method for errors-in-variables problems based on covariance matching was recently proposed. In the first step, a small amount of covariances of noisy input–output data are computed, and then a parametric model is fitted to these covariances. In this paper, the method is further analyzed and the asymptotic accuracy of the parameter estimates is derived. An explicit algorithm for computing the asymptotic covariance matrix of the parameter estimates is given, and the identification method is shown to be asymptotically statistically efficient assuming that the given information is the computed covariances. As an important byproduct, an efficient algorithm is presented for computing the covariance matrix of the computed input–output covariances.  相似文献
